Today is day 7 of the Pray For Your Husband for 30 days Challenge Today’s challenge:
“Do not overwork to be rich; because of your own understanding, cease!…for riches certainly make themselves wings…” Prov. 23:4-5
“That I may cause those who love me to inherit wealth, that I may fill their treasuries.” Proverbs 8:21
Money is the root of much marital discord. Ask yourself, “Am I being negative toward my husband in the area of finances?” Determine not to speak evil of your husband in this area. Discover ways to encourage and help him instead.
Amazingly this is the very topic today’s sermon at church. Not the marital aspect but the “being a good steward of God’s gifts” aspect. I always find it interesting when God chooses to repeat a message in several styles.
The boys are on a Dr Seuss kick around here. We read The Lorax (1971) again today; and The Butter Battle Book (1984) again too. Recently we have been play acting the books, especially BBB, and a big insult from Big Brother “you eat your bread butter side down”. I love him so much. Big Brother, still in his building robots phase, has been carefully laying the books out to use and blueprints and trying to build contraptions from them; especially the weapons in the Butter Battle Book. It is marvelous to watch him be so deliberate in working towards a defined and visible on a goal; not just some creation whirling in his head.
Little Brother tried to help by feeding our visiting dog today, the dog truly would have appreciated his efforts, but Big Brother and I cleaned it up. Little Brother also helped push the laundry basket all over the house today, and we all know how vital it is to make sure your laundry baskets are properly pushed about.
